Revd. John Purdy, Minister of Bishop Auckland Methodist Church, has very kindly taken the trouble to run through for us the social distancing arrangements which will be used at our BAMS concert on June 11th. (Florian Mitrea - piano).
We thought that it would be useful to let you know their principal features, so that you know when you arrive what to expect.
Checking in
- entry is by the rear door of the church facing the hospital on Cockton Hill Road.
- you will be asked to present your tickets for the concert and add your name(s) and contact details to the BAMS attendance register in the porch. You should also use the QR code on
the NHS app on your phone, if you use it, to enhance traceability.
- Should any queue form, you should maintain a separation of 1.5 metres (5 ft) from others in
the queue, even if this means briefly waiting outside
- A one-way system is in place within the building: up the central aisle and back down the side
aisles, using the side door at the back of the church to exit.
- A toilet is available at the rear of the church; please wipe down thoroughly for other users
after yourself. Thank you.
- You should wear a mask throughout and sanitise hands on arriving and as you leave
Seating
- The church has well-organised seating to ensure conformity with Covid regulations and there
is more than sufficient space to accommodate our BAMS concerts comfortably.
- Each row of seats has 7 places; the two next to the centre aisle and the two seats at the side
aisle end are marked with white stickers indicating a pod/bubble, with the 3 middle seats
unoccupied to ensure min 1.5 metres separation between bubbles.
- Alternate row seats, marked with red tape, are to be left unoccupied, thereby ensuring good separation front-and-back too.
- Alternate rows will have two seats at either end of the row, with the middle seats unoccupied
to ensure min 1.5 metres separation between bubbles. The rows behind will have 2 seats in the middle, with the end seats unoccupied, thereby ensuring good separation front-and-back too.
The church has been very thorough in organising site safety during the Covid pandemic and looks forward to welcoming us back, with the enthusiastic support and agreement of the Church Council.
